I have not been able to find a list of coupons that are to be in the paper this Sunday.

Since this is a holiday weekend, and since this past weekend the Proctor & Gamble coupons were in the paper, I don't think there are going to be any coupons this weekend. In a way I am glad, I am still trying to play catch up from last weekends coupons.

For those of you in the WNC area, don't forget about the 2009 NC Apple Festival this weekend in Hendersonville. My son and I plan on making our annual Friday evening trek up there to look around. Hope to see you there!

A great website for those garden veggies you are wanting to 'put up'

As a kid, I can remember spending the summer with my Grandmother, working in her garden in the morning, and then preparing all the veggies to be saved for later use. My favorite had to be the green beans. Stringing them and snapping them, to this day, I still love it. But as a child ( I started spending the summers with her when I was 6) I did not pay close enough attention as to how she did all those things. I regret that today. I remember canning tomatoes, green beans, pickles, and freezing green beans, peaches and squash. I just cant remember all the steps involved with doing any of those things now. Sadly my Grandmother has passed, so I do not have her to turn to now.

So, when given a bag of garden fresh green beans, I turned to the Web. I found a really cool site called PickYourOwn.org. This site covers freezing, and canning as well as almost anything else you would want to know. They even include as you go photos.

I am proud to say, I have frozen 15 cups of green beans, vacuum sealed in 2 cup packages (one had 3 cups). I plan on going by the farmers market this weekend and see if I cant get some more green beans to put up for the winter. My boys love green beans.

Sadly I have fallen off the wagon.

Yes it is true, but I am trying to change things and get back on track. I have fallen off of the couponing wagon.

I can give all the excuses, since vacation I have chased my family around and just not had time to do or think of anything else. I have not felt like sorting and filing my coupons. Basically, blah blah blah blah!

As a testament to my previous stocking, even with taking items to leave at the beach, we have not run out of anything (except ground turkey meat--no coupons for that). Granted I am getting low on shampoo, and tooth paste, and a few other items, but we have yet to run out of anything. And to my credit (**pat me on the back) I have been stocking up on vegetables that I have frozen for the winter.

Here is to my renewed energy to get back on the couponing wagon. This past Thursday during Project Runway, I have sorted and filed my coupons. I will be back on track for today's coupons (and there are a bunch of them!)
